Cordelia Estwynde: Cherry's latest flame, Cordelia was the consort of the headmaster at Cherry's school. Although they met at a tavern when Cordelia was on the arm of another man, it was the headmaster who would eventually bring the two of them together, recruiting Cherry to give Cordelia night lessons in literacy. A young, wealthy widow, Cordelia was drawn to Cherry and soon became her lover. Despite an outwardly delicate appearance, Cordelia is a very resilient individual who merely prefers to avoid nasty situations. She is loyal and loving, although surprisingly sensual for a Hylian.
Maurice Kazan: The headmaster of the Hyrule's finest school of magical training, Maurice rescued Cherry when she was a child, trapped in her bird state, and helped her to control her strange powers. Breaking with conventions, he allowed Cherry, a Human, to studying in his school, alongside some of the wealthiest Hylians. He perceived, however, that Cherry's destiny was great and dangerous and so, when her past caught up with her, he encouraged her to leave the school and discover her own path. This path would, in time, lead Cherry right back where she started, but more powerful and self-assured than before. Maurice is something of a father figure to Cherry. He is also the only person in the world who ever refers to her by the name Samantha, but only in private.
Dear William: William--alternatively known as Will, Bill, or Dear William--met Cherry when they both entered their first year of magical training. Though they were housed in different parts of the school, the two of they found a deep connection. Dear William was the first person Cherry trusted with the secrets of her past. Over the next three years, the two of them had many misadventures in the halls of the school, developing a fond puppy love for one another. William was too embarrassed, however, to tell his mother that he was friends with a Human, something Cherry would not discover for another ten years. While Cherry left school early, Dear William continued on, winning top marks and graduating with highest honors. Despite his book smarts, he had little in the way of practical application skills, so he returned to the school, this time teaching arithmetic. He and Cherry reunited, though Dear William soon became engaged to a beautiful blond girl who was everything Cherry was not. Their love turned into a deep friendship and eventually, Dear William found the courage to introduce Cherry to his domineering mother.
Princess Amanda Harkin: The crown princess of Hyrule, Amanda and her family are patrons of Maurice Kazan's school. Amanda herself, a powerful Hylian, trained there until the war between Hyrule and Catalan brought her back to her duties as princess. Eventually, Amanda married the crown prince of Catalan and bore him three children, but she remained close to the school at all times. When she suffered a bipolar breakdown and ran away, Maurice charged his staff with the task of finding her again. Owing to her bird form, Cherry was able to locate the princess, living with a lover, the captain of the Hylian guard. After agonizing, Cherry elected not to tell anyone what she had seen. This favor to Amanda was repaid several years later when Amanda, who actually knew about Cherry's bird form, allowed her full access to the royal archives. Amanda is a very difficult and temperamental person, but a good friend.
Kallista Summer: Kallista is the Hylian goddess of beauty who has chosen to live among mortals. A great proprietress, she owns the Venus Boutique and the Dancing Knight Tavern, and also dedicates ample funds to good causes. Among these good causes, she has provided funding for the education of a young Hylian boy, named Damon, at Shiz. Damon is one of Cherry's students and she is personally invested in him, often reporting on his progress to Kallista and her Human husband, James Miller. Kallista herself is a bright burst of positive energy. She has friends among every race. She and her husband James have many children who, in spite of their half-breed status, are slated to attend Shiz.
Tress Ogawa: The Hylians believe in every generation there are three great Heroes. Among those Heroes is the Hero of Destiny. When Tress was ten, she was chosen by the goddesses to serve in this position. Her training, which took place in part, at the school, was interrupted by the sudden death of her parents and sister. Despite the fact that her fate was ultimately tied to Hyrule, both Maurice and Cherry encouraged her to travel to other countries, to learn as much as she could about the world. Even though her past is marred with tragedy, Tress is a very outgoing and fun-loving girl. She delights in pranks and never wastes an opportunity to learn something new. Currently, she lives in the kingdom of Hyrule where she works with Prince Connor Corbel to rebel against his evil father, the king.
Catalina Pike: Known by several aliases including Wicked Bitch of the West, Cold Shower Cat, and Lady Darla, Catalina Pike is one of three surviving brown-eyed Hylians. After an extremely difficult childhood in Saria, the backwater village of Hyrule, Catalina grew up to become a vicious assassin. Although considered a freak for her brown eyes, Catalina is a deft warrior, skilled in the art of seduction, and a talented actress. She is generally able to pass herself off as a noblewoman, but many of the people in Cherry's life, including Cordelia and Tress, know the truth about her. In spite of her violent nature, Catalina is also known to be surprisingly philanthropic and has, in the past, anonymously funded the education of several students in Maurice Kazan's school.
Sister Liaza: Born to a farming family, Liaza was taken from her home by missionaries at an early age and trained to be the Messenger of the Sages, a high ranking position within Hylian religion. Aside from these duties, Liaza became a missionary teacher, a position she eventually left after losing her faith, not in the goddesses, but in the missionary bureaucracy getting in the way of belief. Maurice took her in, giving her a position within the school. He also sheltered her after she gave birth to a daughter, Octavia, fathered by a Hylian deity. Liaza and Cherry often clash when it comes to their differing philosophies of education, particularly when it comes to religious versus secular explanations of life. Nevertheless, they share a mutual respect for one another.
